On the farm

First off, my baby is 11 months old now. When did this happen? My skinny little man has been getting a few extra treats in an effort to plump him up. He doesn't seem to mind the icecream before bed, and neither does the rest of the family for that  matter.

I did sleep training with the older 2 but I just can't bring myself to do it with Kimball. I'm not sure why, I suppose I'm going soft in my old age. He still ends up in my bed now and again. Doesn't he look so little in it?!

The kids had a preschool field trips to one of boy's grandparents' farm. It was a lot of fun and the weather was just perfect!

Collecting eggs when a chicken is sitting right next to them takes some nerve. Here are the brave egg collectors:

The little cow in the middle was tiny! She went up to my knee, definitely smaller than some dogs. The bigger cow on the left is missing an eye... can you see where they sewed her eye shut?

Just a few weeks left of preschool and I'll be the first to admit I'm going to miss it. I've decided to wait a year to send Macey to kindergarten, so she'll be the oldest in her class instead of the youngest. Lucky me... I get another year with all of my babies at home and another year to do preschool. Win-win if you ask me!

Sticky Sticky

I probably should have frowned on the baby eating marshmallows in the clean clothes basket...

He was just too cute to stop though!

This and That from March

We've had so much fun this month. We acquired our first set of chicks at the beginning of the month and just got 3 more for a grand total of 8 birds. I'm not convinced all of them are female, so we'll see how many egg layers we end up with. They are so cute and I love their sounds. They are currently living in our unfinished living room. Not every day you can have chickens in your house!

My baby Henny is growing and growing and growing. I love him. He is so smart, kind, and helpful. He is just an easy to get along with kind of person. He is loving the warm weather and spends long hours digging in the flower bed dirt with a little shovel. He is also getting so good at drawing. Everything he draws is a "bad guy" or some sort of monster. What he is drawing here are "mean snakes".

I planted a spring garden! I have beets, peas, lettuce, chard, spinach, kale, chive, green onions, and radishes in the ground. I love to garden and more importantly, I can't wait to eat it.

The other morning I was feeding the baby and May and Henry were in the other side of the house "looking at the chicks". They kids were being good but the chicks were making a lot of noise. I finally when in to check and was surprised by what I found. The biggest chick ever! So gross. I made him take a bath after that. He was so sad when he had to get out. He was "just pettin' dim".

My baby is a mere 2 months from his first birthday which makes him not much of a baby anymore. He is a climber like I've never had! He also took his first steps on Saturday. A light bulb went off and he just get's it. He takes multiple steps just about every time he changes direction. He'll be walking before I know it.

Henry looking so big.

After Conference on Sunday we dyed eggs which the kids loved.

I bought Macey a few new shirts (It's been a YEAR since I bought her clothes...) and she wanted so badly for Kimball to wear a shirt as a dress. Thomas indulged and it was pretty funny. Macey is so ready for a sister, even though her momma is not. She kept calling him Lydia and was ridiculously excited to have a "sister" to play with.

Man, March went fast.
