Forgotten August

I was thinking about my posts and realized I didn't post all of my picture from the beginning of August... weird!

Here is Thomas picking blackberries for me!  I've been running by this patch since we moved in the spring.  I saw a woman out one morning and told her how pretty her berry bushes where.  She looked at me like I was a nut said she didn't even pick those old thorny things.  So I asked if we could... she didn't mind and we ended up picking around 4 gallons!

 We rode our bikes down the Provo River Trail with the Robinson cousins and then stopped for a picnic and playing in the river.

 There was this really pretty tunnel that someone had cut out and then wove the branches of the hedge near the river.

 Thomas had helpers for harvesting the garlic.

 We've seen a humming bird fly back and forth from a nest in our front tree all summer.  Then one day we were out there and there were babies!  Two of them..

 We also went to Payson Lakes!

How could I have forgotten such a fun month?

Henry's first Birthday is fast approaching and I feel like I'm loosing my baby to a toddler.  He's such a fun kid right now.  He doesn't say much, but he's happy 90% of the time, so doesn't seem to need words.

He fits very nicely into Macey's doll strollers and she thinks it is super funny to push him around.

Did you know that as soon as Henry had any kind of muscle control he started crossing his ankles.  He rubs his ankles and feet together when he is hurt or mad or upset and he just crosses them when he is content or happy.  It's pretty cute.  I keep wondering when he'll grow out of it, because I don't want him to!

Well he's a pretty cute little man and we are keeping him even if he is growing against my will.

Squaw Peak

Utah is fun in the fact that the leaves change in series.  First the tops of the mountains catch the colors and the colors slowly make their way down to the valley.  Monday night we went up to find someone of those colors for family night.

Neighbors

It's so fun to have neighbors to craft and eat popcorn with...  What more do little girls need?  Glitter, glue, and popcorn makes the world a happy place when you are under 5 years old :)

Bridal Veil

Last week Macey had a fever at night.  The next day she was feel a little sluggish, but we needed to get out of the house.  I decided we should go to Bridal Veil Falls!  In all of my years of driving past, I've never actually stopped to look around!  It was beautiful.  And the perfect outdoor adventure!

The water was numbing cold though.  I was shocked at how cold it was.

We even had a picnic and hat lot time to throw rocks in... a perfect 10 minute get away.

A whole lot of playing and not much labor...

We went to O-ville for Labor Day, but we sure didn't so much laboring....  

Here's why we love Orderville.

1)Grandma lets you run wild in her grocery store.

2) The town is one big family.  Deputy Brian Harris was shot and killed while pursuing an armed man last week.  His funeral was Friday.  I've never seen so much love and support.  The street in front of the high school was parked 4 deep all across the road - and those were just his fellow law enforcement!  It was  estimated that 1500-2000 police officers were in town that day.  Plus everyone who isn't an officer!  It was amazing and humbling so see the out pouring of love.

3. Aunt Marla gives horse rides whenever we want.

4.  Henry's thigh looks just a little chubbier there.

5.You can walk to church and the scenery is outstanding on the way.

6. There are plenty of little Indians to collect firewood when you go camping.

7.  Fat lips from falling face first in the dirt hurt a little less.

8. You can visit the family old hunting cabin and dream about owning a real cabin in the middle of no where one day.

9.  There are wildflowers all over and they make the best crowns...

10.  You can watch your dad (or hubby) catch fish with his bare hands!

11.  You can fall asleep with a dirty face and no one minds.

We can't wait to move there!

Kitchen Help

I'm not the only one spending lots of time int he kitchen!  My Suez Chef Macey is a good little helper. 

We have a really cute dish boy too, but sometimes he plays more than he works.  He might have to be let go soon...

The dish boy always seems to be the taste tester too.  I think he likes the cottage cheese!
