Eeewww!

Lil Yeller was having a hard time sucking.  Instead of waiting for the ole' husband, I took matters into my own hands!
Gross huh!
A few snips of the scissors later, my favorite cleaning tool was back in action.
I was so very proud of myself.
I was so motivated I even vacuumed out the car.  Maybe I should fix things more often.

Big Sis Party

Sarah (bottom corner)  became a big sister this month!  She was having a little bit of a struggle adjusting so my neighbor Heather and I thought a party might get her a little more excited for the adventure of sisterdom.  We started about by coloring crowns...
Then we made mini pizzas.
After lunch the party made its way outside for some sunshine and decorating big sister sugar cookies. Click here for the recipe.  I think everyone had a blast and Sarah I'm sure is stoked to be a sister now.
 I heart a good party.

J-Dawgs

Confession:  Thomas and I have lived in Provo for over 5 years and never been to J-Dawgs... that all changed Saturday.  It's probably a good thing we haven't gone until now.  It's an addiction waiting to happen.
For those of you who aren't Provoites.  J-Dawgs is a famous hot dog stand that was started by a BYU drop out.  Rumor has it, he made over $100,000 his first year.  He's been in business awhile now (over 5 years...) and has upgraded to a little indoor restaurant.
This picture is of the famous stand (red) and his new place is just right across the parking lot (behind the red car).
You can get a beef dog, a polish dog, chips, and/or a pop.  Really.  That is all they sell.  How do you become rich off of selling hot dogs?  Well 1) you have a "special sauce" for said dog (which as rumor also has it, is made at the owner's granny's house) and 2) you charge $3.00 a dog.  I'll be the first to say it was the best dog I've ever had.  That special sauce with all the fixens.  Heaven!
Props to Mr. J-Dawg man; making a fortune is no small feat.  I hope to join him one day in that tax bracket.

Conference

So Thomas and I get to speak in church this Sunday about "preparing for conference".  Do you have any cool traditions, ideas, thoughts on the topic?  How do you keep the youngins at bay and get anything about of the whole thing?  Thoughts, comments, anything would be appreciated....  not just for the ole talks but for my general knowledge too!

Fear

Do you have any weird fear that you can't explain?  I sure do.  The garbage disposal.  I love it, but it makes me feel queasy just thinking about sticking my hand in that dark hole to fish something out.  I don't think it's going to hurt me, it's just so gross!  When my started to sound like something was stuck I mentioned it to Thomas... He knows I don't put my hand anywhere near it.  He forgot and so did I.  I heard the sound for a few days but I didn't do anything about it.  Yesterday I walked into the kitchen to find this sitting on the edge of my sink:
I think Thomas left it there as a silent reminder to be a little more careful next time.
I blame Macey.

Sunday Duds

As you might remember a post from this past summer... I got some baby clothes for a quarter each at a garage sale.  Well this shirt and vest were some of those!  I'm on the hunt for little man khaki pants.  Wouldn't that complete this outfit nicely!
We also buzzed his hair again.  Isn't it cute!

Girls' Night

Katie invited me up to her place for a girls' night, and after a long week it was throughly enjoyed!  She was the perfect hostess!  Drinks, fancy salad, too much sugar, and New Moon made the night a hit in my book!  She even had fangs, games, and prizes for our vampire themed night. Thanks Katie!  I can't wait until Breaking Dawn comes to video!

Busy Bee

Life picked up about 4 fold for me these past 2 weeks!  I can definitely tell that it is spring and people are out looking for apartments again.  It's like I've gone back to work after my long winter snooze.  I've forgotten how much there is to do, and lets be honest, it is making me so excited to move!
Highlights from the last week:  Ward St. Patty's Day pot luck, dinner out with the family, Birthday party with family (cousin's...), Henry's first serious cold, no sleeping with miserable Henry, Going to St. George with Thomas - he attended a conference I played at the park with Macey, going for a run with Driel and Kristen (well sort of, they ran, I complained).
All these fun things and no pictures.  Shame on me!  And the most exciting news... Henry, who is now 5 months old, finally rolled over.  Twice.

Par-Tay

With Thomas' thesis out of the way, we decided it was time to celebrate.
We had steaks, fancy drinks, and even fancier cheese fondue.
Our favorite neighbors came over to help celebrate.

Macey pondered the wonder of fondue.

Thomas told us about his future plans.

Then we ate more fondue.  Heather made this chocolate bad boy with all the trimmings.

Celebrating is always fun when friends and food are brought together.  Thanks for the reason to celebrate Thomas!  We are so proud of all your hard work.

The Big Defense

Thomas did an amazing job on his thesis defense yesterday!  It was so fun to see him in his element and to understand a little more about the project that his been occupying all of his time.
The title of the thesis is:
An Enhanced Data Model and Tools for Visualization of Levee Simulations
(fancy huh!)
Doesn't he look good in a suit?

Big Sis

Thomas had a little maintenance to do on the car and I was busy inside, so Thomas put Henry in Macey's chair to watch her play inside the car.  Mace made her way from the driver's seat to the back to make sure Henry was ready to go on a trip with her.

Hope of Spring

Saturday gave us a little taste of spring.  We got out our bikes and rode to a park a little ways from our house

We are so excited for spring.  Spring will have lots of adventures for this little family.  We are moving and I'll be done managing May 1.  Where we are moving to though is still the big mystery.
