A little trip to "Zion"

We made a trip up to Provo this past weekend.  We had a delightful dinner with our dearest friends the O'Dells.  If you ask John where he is from he'll tell you "Zion" aka Provo and I have a hard time disagreeing! Oh how we miss that town!
I've known John and Ranelle longer than I've known Thomas!  I met them while they were serving a mission in Indiana while I was attending Ball State University.  They came home to Provo and I came out to BYU.  They haven't been able to get rid of me...
We consider them adopted grandparents for our kids.

We stayed the night with the Andersen's.  It's so fun to have kids all the same age... they were super funny together.  Macey and Moriah.
 Kira and Kimball
Fiona and Henry (the strawberry monsters!)
Then - the reason for going to Provo!  My amazing cousin Courtney went through the temple for the first time and received her Endowment.  I was honored to be her escort.  It was a cozy little group and we enjoyed the day together so much!  She's getting ready to be married on July 16 to Todd, whom we love love love!  We couldn't be more excited for them.
Who on earth do you leave your 1 month old with while you are gone for hours at the temple???  Only a most trusted friend!  I left all of the kids with Thomas' cousin Amy and her clan.  We love and miss them so much.  Amy said her old kids did lots of the "watching".  They also have a huge yard, chickens, and baby bunnies to do some entertaining!

Thanks for the babysitting Robinson's!  We owe you one (or lots...)  Love you!

Care Bear's and Kimball's Birthdays!

Kimball is one month old today!  I can't even believe it!
Sometimes in the afternoon I let him sleep on his tummy when I'm up and alert - don't judge.
He loves it though and will take a great nap for me on his tummy.  It's so cute!

Macey was pretending it was her Care Bear's birthday the other day so we indulged her.  We lit candles on a cookie and blew them out after singing.  She was SO happy about the festivities.

Life's peachy.

What am I? Chop Suey?

Here were Macey's answers on the little questionaire that her Primary teacher helped her fill out for her dad for Father's day:

My daddy's name is: Thomas
He weighs: 100 pounds
His favorite food is: watermelon
My daddy is really good at:  playing on the trampoline
He loves to: play with me
My favorite thing to do with my dad is: play with him
I am just like my dad because I: have hair
What I love most about my daddy is: that I love him too much.
It makes Dad happy when I: do fun things

She LOVES her dad and she is obviously pleased with how much he plays with her.

If you don't remember Mother's Day survey- here it is.

My mom's name is: Melissa
My mom likes to: clean the table
My mom has _blue_ eyes
My mom's birthday is on: already over
My mom was born in:  July Kentucky
My mom's favorite food is: bananas
My mom likes to help me: clean my room
My mom is best at: cleaning

So her dad is totally fun and all I like to do is clean.  Oh geez.  I'm a little bitter if you can't tell :)

Father's Day and such!

Thomas is the best Dad ever... 'nough said.

Henry is the cutest little boy ever.
We went on a little adventure up Monroe Canyon on Saturday to "see what we could see".  We knew there was a little creak running through it and thought it would be fun to check out.  Hello raging torrential waters - check them out behind Thomas.  We stopped here long enough to take and picture and run away.  I guess this is why there's so much flooding here!
We had a nice little picnic and Kimball slept the whole time in his carseat (that newborn stage isn't too bad huh).

Henry and Macey found a "snake"!  Thomas and I - don't mind the tired eyes...

This was below one of the cliff faces... weird.  I wonder if it's true!
Then Sunday Thomas got a nap, a table for his work room, and manly dinner, and homemade ice cream!
Henry loves fruit especially berries.  He ate a whole thing of blackberries and hardly touched his ice cream... what a character.
 Mmmm.

The Photos

Here are the promised photos.
Life with 3 is going way better than expected.  I was pretty miserable at the end of pregnancy, so everything seems so much better in comparison.
Thomas' 1 day business trip turned into 3 days and 2 nights; flying solo and doing it well always makes me feel confident in my mothering.  I can't wait until he gets home tonight though.  We miss him to pieces!

Macey is getting too big!  She could start Kindergarten in 14 months... the whole idea depresses me terribly!
Kimball will be 3 weeks old tomorrow!  He weighed in at 9lbs and 12 ounces last week at his check up.  He's healthy and happy - all I could ask for really!
Bebe's first bath with plenty of helpers.
His hair gets curly when it's wet!  So cute.
Who is that giant man child?
Sleeping- I loved where his hands was!
Henry in the same little tub Kimball was in for his bath.
My mom was at my house for a full 6 days!  It was wonderful.  I made a list of projects that I wanted to get done while she was here and we accomplished all of them, plus some!  We got stuffed animals washed, curtains hung, and she even found time to mend all of Thomas' clothes!  Oh how I love that woman.  She also whipped up this cute little dress for Macey and a matching tie for Henry.
 Cutest pair ever!
 My momma and my baby.
Mom with her favorite grandchildren :)  Right Lachelle??

Updatin'

Well my mom left yesterday morning to go home to KY and Thomas left for a little over night business trip... Hello motherhood.

I got 2 emails asking if I was still alive today.  That sure makes me feel loved!  Thanks Grandpa and Heather! So here's the short update just for you-

Things are going great, but blogging just isn't happening.  I sat down to get some pictures up and Thomas has already put them on his computer! Boo.  So another update with all the grandma pictures is coming.

The kids are doing well with a new baby.  Henry likes all of the "extras".
Thomas gives me a little reprieve from the day around 7pm.  It's a wonderful time full of stories and playing while I pick up the house.
Kimball is a happy little man who eats well and is generally happy when tended properly.  He sleeps in 3 hour chunks at night.  So after an hour of feeding, changing, and getting him back to sleep, I sleep for about 2 hours at a time.  I'm ok if I go to bed by 8 because let's face it, naps are hard to come by at the moment.
He sleeps in my bed in the boppy at night and in his swing (or someone's arms) during the day.  He does love to be held and nursed to sleep.
I'll have more of an update later!

No news is good news!

I thought we should take 5 minutes to say WE ARE HOME!
We got home Monday night and have been loving every minute of freedom from the hospital.

My first day as a full time mother of 3 was marked by a big event for Henry:  he learned how to climb up the bunk bed ladder.  Oh the timing.  If you can't tell Macey isn't pleased with this (the top bunk is her safe place from her brother).  Of course he doesn't know how to get back down.  So if I hear a desperate "momma" from her room I move quick.
Like all older siblings, Henry grew a foot and gained 15 lbs while I was in the hospital.  When did he become a boy and not a baby??  Weird.  He loves "Timball" and likes to point to and name all of his body parts.  "Nose"
Kimball doesn't look so big with clothes on... isn't he cute!
We got a fun package in the mail for Kimball but Macey loved the box and tissue paper just as much as anything.  Isn't her hair nuts... what should I do with it??
Isn't he edible?  Oh, those cheeks!  He's a happy little man who eats like a champ.  He is strange in the fact that he will be awake for an hour or two a couple of times a day!  Weird, he's only a week old!  It makes me nervous but he's happy so we'll keep on keeping on.
The kids seem to like Kimball around.  We have been working hard on having fun too.  Today we made a tent in the front yard and the kids watched the trash truck come down the street. I'm so excited it's summer!
