Fall and Halloweeny Thingys

Well It's been a busy couple of weeks!  I finished up my canning season with applesauce, grape juice, and pears.  It's so nice to be done and have everything put away!
We carved the pumpkin we grew in our "garden" this year.  It was just about the only thing that grew...
I'm not a baby shoe person... I think it's laziness.  That being said Henry has never had a pair of shoes on in his year of life.  Let's just say he didn't take kindly to them the first time around.
And then it snowed this week.  It was wonderful and then it was melted by 10am.  It was the perfect surprise for some morning play.  The pumpkin decided to be a snowman for Halloween!
We used most of the snow in the yard and created this little beauty with our neighbor!
It must be fall... Macey and I have gobbled up our first pomegranates of the season.  We LOVE these things.
Henry's decided he likes books a lot better than shoes.
Halloween is Thomas' Birthday so most years we go out.  This year Provo did trick-or-treating on Saturday instead of Sunday so we took the kids for the first time.  Macey sure didn't mind the tradition.  Here is Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma, The Woodcutter, and of course, the Wolf!  It was a rainy and windy night but we had lots of fun.
Henry all sticky from his sucker.
Sugar anyone?
Well now it's time for bed.  Happy Fall to All!

Springville's Secret

There is a magical and easily over looked spot in Springville everyone must know about!  It's on Center St. and 9th West on the left side of the road when you are hading out of town.  You can just pull up and feed all of this man's collection.

Yes, they have kangaroos!  We fed them ripe pears.

Rachel, my good looking friend, now owns a fancy house just a few blocks away.  We just love play dates with her!  Thanks for sharing the secret Rachel.

Life's Peachy!

Macey is a funny little girl who told me she was cooking sausages on her play grill.
Henry has had a serious case of the "I need you to hold me all the times".  Wow it's exhausting. Here is Thomas working his magic and getting things done at the same time.  He's such a perfect husband.

Birthday Party Bonanza!

I've been planning a huge party for Thomas and Henry's birthdays for a long time now!  The event finally happened and here are the pictures!  I love parties, and Thomas told me he thought the party was as much for me as it was for him.  He was right :)
I was busy making treats the morning of.
Henry was busy helping.
Here's what we came up with!
Thomas was busy outside ridding our little retaining wall of unwanted guests via the shop vac.
All of the uninvited where not welcome.  By invite only!
Then the day raced on and it was party time!  We fed ghosts.
Ladies walked the cake walk!
A bounce house was enjoyed by all (not just the kids...)
The wolf didn't love his ears, but Grandma and Red Riding hood thought he was still cute without them.
We ate and we ate
Pumpkins were painted.
And then everyone went home and I cried a little tear.  Macey and I stayed in the house until 8:30 that night enjoying every minute.  When it came down I knew that the party was really over.
We've been so blessed with a collection of friends from different stages in life and luckily lots of them still live close by!  We had over 60 people come to celebrate with us.  I'll sure miss Provo and all of it's perks (aka friends) whenever we move!  It was a fine day indeed.

Dreams do come true!

Going to Australia has been on my "life goals" list for as long as I can remember.  And now... it's going to happen!  I'm so beyond excited that I have trouble sleeping at night!  Thomas is going to train some members of the Australian government in the software that he works with.  He's known for months that he "might" go, but nothing was definite.  Now his trip is schedules for the 5th of November!

He's going to be gone for 3 whole weeks including over Thanksgiving (booo), but the up side is I get to go with him for the first 10 days! I'll be in Sydney for 7 days and Melbourne for 3 (that includes all the flying...).  We leave 3 weeks from Saturday...

I've only left Macey for one night not including Henry's birth and I've never left Henry, so that will be hard.  I have convinced myself not to worry though!  I'm flying my mom out to babysit, so a lot of peace of mind comes right there!  Over a week with no obligations other than what to do next!  What will I do with myself!?!  I'm a little nervous about exploring by myself all day (Thomas will be working until 5pm), but it's all part of the adventure right.

Party number uno and a weddin'

We drove down to Orderville for the weekend and had a blast.  Thomas and I went to Celeste and Warren's wedding in St. George on Saturday.

Then we had a family party for Henry on Sunday.
Macey and Jane were such good present opening helpers... I just don't know what Henry would have done with out them!

The spectators... it was such a perfect October day, we couldn't help but we outside.

Skinny Henny?

Henry turned one yesterday!  He's such a fun little boy.  Did you know that Macey's gives you a free cake for your baby's first birthday?!  Well they do and we took advantage!

I took Henry to his 1 year Dr. appointment today and was shocked by his "percentiles"!  He weighs 19# 13 oz and is 30 1/2 inches tall, which puts him in the 11th percentile for weight and the 74th for height.  Tall and skinny... I've always considered him a chunk, but now I guess I don't even know what a chunk is!

New Bed and New Briches

We found a bunk bed just by chance... it was only $30 so we got it even if we don't really need it yet!  Macey loves it... she gets to choose at night if she wants to sleep on the top of the bottom.
I cleaned out Henry's dresser, putting the smaller clothes up and getting out his bigger winter clothes.  I found this little outfit in all of the treasures...  I got the sweater last year for $.99 from childrensplace.com and the others from garage sales.  I don't really remember what I have so it's fun to get the box out and see what I bought!
"Oh computer, I love you"

Dress Up

Macey wanted me to make her a new dress for her, so we pulled out the material and did just that.  We just don't make a permanent one..
Who knew fabric could be so fun!

Raging Success

This was by far our best Conference weekend since parenthood... a little preparation went a long way!  Henry still takes 2 naps a day which we planned around the sessions and Macey slept during the second one. So really we only had to entertain Macey for the first 2 hours...
I spent $5 at the dollar store on new paints, pompoms, chenilles, beads, and more beads...  the best $5 ever spent!
I got about 75 blank Thank You, Get Well, Wedding, Birthday and Baby Shower cards made too!  A great crafting day indeed.
Macey can eat a burrito on her bike with no hands... she's fancy.
Macey was attack hugging Henry in the tub.  She kept saying "I lub my bwudda".  Pretty cute.

We played with chalk and Thomas later told me I had a little hand print on my shirt... Thanks Henny!
We made donuts... oh how we love a good donut.
We all ate a gluttons share and then felt a little sick the rest of the day...
Thomas is organizing all of his paper work from the last 2 years of his schooling!  It was a perfect Conference project.
Well I can't wait for the Ensign to get here!  I think I missed a full hour this afternoon when my eyes got a little heavy... I woke up and people were singing, weird!  Good thing we can read and listen to it over and over again!
