We've had so much fun this month. We acquired our first set of chicks at the beginning of the month and just got 3 more for a grand total of 8 birds. I'm not convinced all of them are female, so we'll see how many egg layers we end up with. They are so cute and I love their sounds. They are currently living in our unfinished living room. Not every day you can have chickens in your house!
My baby Henny is growing and growing and growing. I love him. He is so smart, kind, and helpful. He is just an easy to get along with kind of person. He is loving the warm weather and spends long hours digging in the flower bed dirt with a little shovel. He is also getting so good at drawing. Everything he draws is a "bad guy" or some sort of monster. What he is drawing here are "mean snakes".
I planted a spring garden! I have beets, peas, lettuce, chard, spinach, kale, chive, green onions, and radishes in the ground. I love to garden and more importantly, I can't wait to eat it.
The other morning I was feeding the baby and May and Henry were in the other side of the house "looking at the chicks". They kids were being good but the chicks were making a lot of noise. I finally when in to check and was surprised by what I found. The biggest chick ever! So gross. I made him take a bath after that. He was so sad when he had to get out. He was "just pettin' dim".
My baby is a mere 2 months from his first birthday which makes him not much of a baby anymore. He is a climber like I've never had! He also took his first steps on Saturday. A light bulb went off and he just get's it. He takes multiple steps just about every time he changes direction. He'll be walking before I know it.
Henry looking so big.
After Conference on Sunday we dyed eggs which the kids loved.
I bought Macey a few new shirts (It's been a YEAR since I bought her clothes...) and she wanted so badly for Kimball to wear a shirt as a dress. Thomas indulged and it was pretty funny. Macey is so ready for a sister, even though her momma is not. She kept calling him Lydia and was ridiculously excited to have a "sister" to play with.
Man, March went fast.
