Turkey Day and Such

Thanksgiving weekend came before we knew it! But before we get there let's look at my little monkeys.

The baby eating a lime!

Henry and Kimball have a lot of fun the two afternoons a week Macey is at preschool. I normally put the baby down for a nap, read Henry some books and play a bit, and then lay him down too. I normally end up with an hour to myself on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it's just lovely.

We took a load of things down to Orderville on Thanksgiving morning (we are moving there! We are really going to move there!). We spent the morning packing the truck full of things that I don't want to part with but don't need this second. We pulled up the the elementary just in time for lunch.

This was an "on" year for most of the families so Thanksgiving lunch was a full of cousins we don't see often, food that we love to eat, and riding these fun little scooters around the cafeteria.  I love the years that lots and lots of people come.

Here's crazy Sally and Lucy (T's sister and mom)

Brookes' bum and lots of people we love!

After we ate fun Aunt Roshelle took the kids on a turkey hunt. She made these fun cups with a string and a wet sponge and when you pull on them it makes this funny noise that sound just like a turkey call.

Henry thought it was awesome!

So did Misty. LOL

She led the motley crew on a search for the illusive turkey.

And in the end, it was found! The things was harboring a bag full of treats too. That is my kind of hunting!

Cousin Brandy and Marley

Sometime that weekend us Griffiths' made a trek to the V. The weather was absolutely perfect and a hike was just what our busy bodies needed.

Marla backed her one week old baby up. She would have been an awesome pioneer.

Here's the view from the top. The house in the bottom left is the house we are moving into (our white car is parked in front of it), you can see the footings for the hardware store Thomas and Papa Terry are building just a little above the house and the red roof just above the footings is the grocery store. It will be fun to see the changes to this view in the coming year!

Sammi packed baby Tace to the top too. I think this was his first time up...

That evening we made gingerbread houses. I make my own every year, but this year Lucy got a bunch of the premade kits for the kids to put together. They were SO easy and you could get right to decorating. I totally see the appeal!

Thanksgiving weekend would not be complete without some basketball and volleyball. The high school that Thomas went to holds and alumni tournament every year and the proceeds go to scholarships. The women play volleyball and the men basketball. Thomas' team came in first last year but didn't manage to even win a game this year... oh well, they had fun.  My sister-in-laws however rocked it and won the whole woman's tourney.

Marla, who just had baby Jack one week before even played. I'm telling you, she's hardcore! Here is proud papa Josh and baby Jack cheering on Mom.

The winning team!

The good looking spectators.

A baby who was so naughty and ran on the courts all weekend and stole drinks when he wasn't running:

When we weren't at the school watching games the kids were busy playing with cousins. Grandpa's machinery makes the best club house.

What's the "V"? And why didn't you play with the girls? Oh wait...I remember your note about not being athletic on your Australia post. Maybe it's too intense to join? One more question (which is funny to ask on a blog where it's not very question friendly)...will Thomas be working at the store? Literally in your backyard??
